FLAX FACTS FOR HEALTH “Flax Does So Much More Than Any Drug Ever Could Without Any Negative Side Effects” The use of high-powered drugs to treat disease is a phenomenon of the 20th century. Although it has brought about some miracles, it has also wrought a quantity of horrible side effects and a number of terrible long-term effects that are of no small consequence. We are also very well aware that the cost of prescription drugs is becoming prohibitive for most people and insurance companies. Now is the time to explore “food as our main medicine” and use good science as a guide to effectively incorporate health-providing foods into our daily diet food plan. Flax is one super food worthy of consideration for the top of that plan. Health benefits are supported by tons of good, solid scientific research. Keep reading to see Flaxseed has been around for centuries. All major cultures of the last 9000 years have used it in one form or another. Even in the Bible, flax is mentioned as a food. Some used the seed to grow the stalks to be utilized in the manufacture of linen to make tents, sails, and very durable clothing. For thousands of years it was used as an ingredient in making breads and cereals, but no one really knew why. Then in 1985, Paul Stitt, biochemist and founder of Natural Ovens Bakery™ and INENRECO®,C., gathered information from many different sources and carried out research to show that flax was a very nutritional additive to breads and could replace conventional fats. The positive results of Paul’s initial scientific research were the reason scientists at several universities around the world started very serious work to determine all the possible health benefits of flax. Presently, because of Paul Stitt’s pioneering vision, there have been thousands of articles published on the health benefits of flax. Amazingly, flax has been shown to help benefit almost every chronic inflammatory disease that afflicts mankind today. Flaxseed proves effective natural alternative to HRT for Menopausal symptoms. The Journal Obstetrics and Gynecology says that consuming 40 grams of flaxseed daily "...is as effective as oral estrogen-progesterone to improve mild menopausal symptoms and to lower glucose and insulin levels. A study reported in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism showed that same 40 grams, taken over a period of three months by postmenopausal women not on HRT, lowered both LDL and total cholesterol levels by 6% and triglycerides by nearly 13%. The American Heart Association found that women with increased dietary intake of the isoflavones and lignans found in soy and flax decreased their risk for atherosclerosis and arterial degeneration. Flax is "...by far the richest source of lignans", according to the Journal of the American College of Nutrition which asl noted their beneficial effects on bone. The Cancer Letters cited a University of Toronto study demonstrating flaxseed's measurable contributions to the reduction of both the incidence and spread of breast cancer. The Journal of Laboratory and Clinical Medicine reported a study showing a particular flax lignan to have reduced adult-onset diabetes by 80%. These are not advertiser claims, but actual outcomes of scientific studies.
